thank you for sharing your stories about Midnight, on this site. most of us never knew him and only have the music, the words and the soul, to listen to and to experience.

but even though we never knew him, he will always be a part of us. only he could have written something like Lost Reflection - probably the most haunting and beautifully-unsettling piece of music, ever recorded.

he said it, himself; death is not the end. and while I'm sure that he's still out there, reaching even further towards what he was always striving for, his soul also still lives through us, his fans.

he once asked the question, "What is life, beyond the Attic Door?"

he now knows.

spread your wings, Midnight.

A voice that will sing forever is the halls of my soul. A kindred spirit. A writer of the soul. A link to the hidden depths within ourselves. No matter how dark or painful. Cracks of light bleeding through. A tortured soul. That wings of steel opened widely & sent the spirit high in the sky to only have the sun melt the wings of steel. Cutting short a magnificent flight.....

I feel a kinship to this man. I am struggling with my own demons, and a lot like him in many ways. No other voice or words have touched me like he has. The song 'Carnival' made me pick up the guitar. I know many of us miss him dearly and has touched a lot of people. He definitely was one of a kind. I pray that he has found peace and is doing what HE wants. I will truly never forget you, my brother. Your words and emotions live on!

I first met John at a weird little building that several bands shared for rehearsal space, back when Jon Drenning was playing a home built pink Rhoads V. I heard the very beginnings of what would become the CG sound. I had no idea at the time that sound would ultimately influence myself. I miss your voice my brother.
